Yuichiro Tokuda Ralyzzdig, an award winning Japanese modern jazz band, will be coming to this year’s Borneo Jazz Festival.

He received an award as the “New Face of the Year in Art & Culture” from the Chiba-City Government in 2008, the first time ever for a jazz artist.

He also received “Finalist” & “Honorable Mention Award” in International Songwriting Competition 2010, 2012 & 2013 Jazz Category.

Every year he performs at Japan’s most prestigious Jazz Festival “Yokohama Jazz Promenade” and also performs at many festivals in all over the world.

The band formed shortly after founder Yuichiro Tokuda returned to Japan from studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2008 and soon after, they released an album which was acclaimed as “the cutting edge of the present progressive form of jazz” in Jazz Life magazine.

Besides Yuichiro Tokuda RALYZZDIG, the seven confirmed bands are the Klazz Brothers & Cuba Percussion from Germany/Cuba, Raw Earth from Singapore, Manou Gallo Groove Orchestra from Belgium/Ivory Coast and O Sister! from Spain.

Also joining in on the fun will be Funkatorie from Malaysia, A.P.I from Malaysia/India and The Rad Trads from New York, USA.

Tickets are available at pre-sale prices with adult passes selling at RM80.00 for a one-day pass and RM140.00 for a two-day pass.

For children ages between seven to 12 years, ticket is priced at RM40.00 for the one-day pass and RM60.00 for the two-day pass.

Family package is also available, with two adult passes and two child passes for RM160.00.

Pre-sale tickets can be purchased online at the festival’s website at www.jazzborneo.com and will only be available until May 12.

The two-day festival will be staged from Friday, May 13 until Saturday, May 14 at the ParkCity Everly Hotel.

The event is organized by the Sarawak Tourism Board, endorsed by Tourism Malaysia and is jointly supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia and Ministry of Tourism, Sarawak.
