Volunteers from Youth Sarawak, a Non-Governmental-Organisation (NGO) had recently conducted a project known as the ‘Bario Mini Library Project’ in the highlands of Borneo. The initiative was done from 22nd to 24th of January 2016.
During that tenure, Youth Sarawak paid a visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan Bario (SK. Bario) while bringing along with 10 boxes of donated books and stationeries.
Aside from the donation, volunteers from Youth sarawak also conducted a night class for Sekolah Kebangsaan Bario students where volunteers had the opportunity to tutor them on Mathematics and Bahasa Malaysia.
The volunteers also had a chance to familiar themselves with the uniqueness of Bario which includes the Tamu Ria of Bario.
With the project acting as a foundation of future projects, Youth Sarawak had therefore decided to set a goal to continuously support and educate local students thru various other programme i.e tuition, computer and creative art classes.
