Computer users upgrading their devices to Windows 10 would get an extended support to up to ten years with Microsoft planning to end the support for the OS only in 2025.
According to ZDNet, Microsoft will provide free upgrades to Microsoft 10 for users of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, but the lengthy support date for Windows 10 means that there might not be a new Operating System from Microsoft in the next decade.
Below is the support timeline for each of Microsoft’s operating system.
Prior to this, Microsoft has already revealed they are planning Windows 10 for a long run with periodical updates provided to upgrade the operating system as years go by.
With Windows 10 close to being released, the news of its ten year support is much welcomed.
