There’s a lot of TV series and movies shown outside of Malaysia which is shown by foreign TV stations. Unfortunately for us, they are geo-restricted, which means that if you are not from a particular country which shows the series, you are not able to watch in on your TV, or even your laptop using your internet connection.

But there’s this service, known as UnoTelly which is offering you the ability to by-pass the geo-restrictions, and enable you to watch over 267 channels, with some highly restricted to certain countries only. Before I go on further, please note that there are two services offered by UnoTelly; the UnoDNS (which allows you to by-pass geo-restricted content), and the UnoVPN, which allows you to surf the internet securely, and by-pass any restrictions created by the telco you are using, such as TM, Celcom or Digi.

265+ CHANNELS
The biggest appeal of UnoTelly is its massive channel offerings, which account to over 267+ channels. These channels are from all over the world although many are US based.  Not really a bad thing really considering plenty of my favourite series are based in the US.

The channels offered are not some ‘cikai-cikai’ channels, with top ones like CW, FOX, AOL, HBO and more all accessible for free if you are on Unotelly!  You can’t do that on a normal Malaysian server because all these channels are geo-restricted, which means are only meant to their respective home countries.

For those wanting a good galore of series online, Netflix and Hulu are two prominent names you’d also be able to access with Unotelly.  Now, the only downside is that channels like Netflix and Hulu do need you to subscribe to their services, and that would be an additional cost paid directly to the respective channels.

NO SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD
The one thing I love about UnoTelly is that you do not need to install a third party software to use their services. This includes both UnoDNS and UnoVPN services. Yes, configuring UnoTelly services can be quite a hassle, but their ‘FAQ’ sections, as well as the guides provided are pretty awesome in pointing you in the correct direction. For UnoDNS, you only need to do some minor configurations which could be done in less than two minutes, while UnoVPN is a bit more tricky to configure although it would take about five minutes or so to complete.

Regardless, knowing you would not need to download any software to configure services under UnoTelly enables you to do away with constant annoying software updates or risky software downloads.

TORRENTS & UnoVPN
If you are interested to go beyond watching geo-restricted content, then you need to sign up for UnoVPN which is available under UnoTelly’s Gold Plan.

Speed of your connection on Torrents vary, but be fairly warned that UnoTelly has a strict policy in regards to customers using torrents on their US server. That said, you may want to be very sure which connection you are using before you connect your torrent download.

An initial test for downloading torrents on UnoVPN showed significant download speed on UnoVPN servers, but like I said before, it depends a lot on the seeders for your files. Nonetheless, if compared to the regular Streamyx connection, the speeds are worth to boast about. I’d like to also note that Maxis seems to not allow torrent downloads at all.

NO MORE RESTRICTED SITES
Although the Malaysian government does not censor the internet like China, several sites have been known to be block due to several issues including infringement of copyright, pornography and hate speeches. With UnoTelly however, such restrictions would not apply since UnoVPN would by-pass any such restrictions easily.  This is important for those who value total freedom of the internet.

USABLE ACROSS PLATFORMS
Another feature I love about UnoTelly is the fact that it has prepared clear guides on how you can use their services across numerous platform. This means that you are not limited to only using their services on computers, but also any smart devices such as smartphones, Blueray players, your Kindle, smart TVs and more. It is my belief that such usage is possible due to the fact that UnoTelly does not require any special software to run.

Other VPN services require you to install a software into your computer, hence limiting their usability across different platforms.

FREE TRY-OUT!
It is quite difficult to find VPN services to try out these days, but UnoTelly is not one typical VPN service. Before signing up, you can consider trying out their 8-day free trial for UnoDNS, and their 3-day free trial for both UnoTelly and UnoVPN. To make it sweeter, they do not require you to insert your credit card details. If you are interested to give them a try, go on to this link.

CONCLUSION:
UnoTelly is offering something different with their access to hundreds of channels worldwide at a single location being their main feature. The ease to select your favourite channel makes it very user-friendly to those wanting an alternative to cable TV such as Astro or HyppTV which has limited TV channels. Regardless of that, the slight difficulty in configuring the services might be a turn off to non-tech savvy users, although I personally think that the ability of it to be used across numerous platforms really appealing.
