Yet another cruise ship arrived at Sarawak’s shores this year, making it the 10th cruise ship stop, and 6th for MV ORION II (Orion Expedition Cruises, Australia).
The cruise ship arrived at the Sim Kheng Hong Port in Kuching with 86 Guests & 70 crew on board at 6:30am last Saturday.
Majority of the passengers were from the United States and Australia with the rest mainly from UK and Europe.
The cruise ship was on its 10 Nights “Camp Leakey – Faces in the Forest” cruise from Singapore, through Anambas Archipelago, Natuna Archipelago, before arriving Kuching and then proceeding to Tanjung Puting (Camp Leakey) and Bali a total of 10 Nights.
On arrival, the passengers were greeted with a traditional welcome and garlanded by a 10 member cultural troupe courtesy of Sarawak Tourism Board.
It was understood that cruise ships arrival contributes to about 2,000 tourists’ arrival into the state last year.
