SM Teknik Sejingkat is now housing Sarawak’s first matriculation college known as the Sarawak Matriculation College or Kolej Matrikulasi Sarawak (KMS).

The school which is located in Sejingkat will shelter the newly established KMS until a permanent campus has been built.

A report by New Sarawak Tribune revealed that the KMS was aimed to overcome the studying hassles and logistic costs faced by the students who had previously had to study in Labuan Matriculation College (KKL), which is near Sabah.

For now, 89 students throughout the state had registered at the centre since it started operation on 26 May this year with the campus increasing its intake to 160 when the second phase of the temporary campus project is complete by December next year.
