The civil servants can expect to received their SSM salaries for now as the government has decided to only pay the new Public Service Remuneration Scheme (SBPA) salaries after the review of the scheme.

This means that civil servants will should not expect their outstanding salaries (based on the new SBPA salary) which was promised on January 31st to be paid.  The payment of outstanding salaries was suppose to be made to those opting for SBPA.

According to news reports, the delay in the payment was agreed by CUEPACS and all related outstanding payments will be made when the scheme has been reviewed.

The SBPA is a new remuneration scheme introduced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Najib Razak in the 2012 budget. It was reviewed by the government following numerous complaints on certain teething issues.
