MELBOURNE – Beatric Laus Johie, 28 pleaded guilty to a charge of trying to import marketable quantity of drugs after a deal struck by her her attorneys will see the first charge of possession of the drug was dropped.

The deal gives Beartric chance to return home sooner as it is understood that pleading ‘not guilty’ would extend the trial and hence prolong her stay in Australia.

In November 2011, Beatrice was caught by Australian Customs officers with about 1.5kg herion. She is suspected to be yet another drug mule after her story revealed that the heroin was packed without her knowledge by her Nigerian boyfriend.
