A recent list by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) revealed that Sarawak is host to the second biggest number of underground gangs in the country. These gangs or societies have been deemed illegal by the Malaysian Home Ministry.

Out of the 49 gangs named, Sarawak had 15, with gangs based Kuala Lumpur and Selangor topping the list at first.

The police recently decided to release the gang list after crime involving such criminals increased heavily in the country.

Below are the list of gangs identified by the police:

1) Geng 04 – Kedah, PPinang dan KL
2) Geng 08 – KL, Selangor, PPinang, Perak, Johor, Negeri9 & Melaka
3) Double 7 – seluruh Semenanjung Malaysia
4) Tiga Line – KL, Selangor, Kedah dan Perak
5) Geng 30 – seluruh Semenanjung Malaysia
6) Geng 38 – Kepong, Jinjang, Setapak dan Johor Bahru
7) Geng 24 – Selangor, KL, PPinang, Perak dan Johor
8.) Geng 18 – Selangor, KL, Perak dan Johor
9) Geng 36 – Perak, Melaka, Negeri9, Selangor dan KL
10) Geng 21 – Perak, Melaka, Negeri9, Selangor dan KL
11) Ang Soon Thong – KL dan Selangor
12) Wah Kee – KL, Perak, Johor dan Selangor
13) Sio Sam Ong – KL, Perak, Johor dan selangor
