Sarawak Forte Club in collaboration with 1heart2bless has completed its four-hour charity drive recently, touching the heart of many during its visit to Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA).
According to 1heart2bless charity chairman John Koh, the charity drive proceeded very smoothly even though it was raining heavily during the ‘flag off’ at Kista Kindergarden (Taman Centurion).
“It is a great start with 30 cars supporting this four-hour charity drive event, thanks to Sarawak Forte Club for making this happen and also to Yu Lee Hong Motors Sdn Bhd for sponsoring the charity drive event,” he pointed out.
The charity drive flagged off at 2.30PM with its first stop at SSPCA, delivering foods and necessaries for the dogs and cats and at the same time, helping 1heart2bless to raise fund for the centre.
Apart from that, the participants of the charity drive also got to know further the conditions of the ‘shelter house’ for these animals as well as the commitment of SSPCA towards the society. “Thanks to SSPCA chairman Rebecca D’Cruz and her team for bringing us around and explaining to us the importance of voluntary works during the visit,” said Koh.
After an hour of ‘get-to-know’ session at SSPCA, Sarawak Forte Club and 1heart2bless team proceed to Ipoh Town Kopitiam at 7th Mile for all-sponsored refreshment and lunch by Ipoh Town itself.
“We then proceed to our next stop at Boulevard Shopping Mall to play some games with the shoppers and at the same time, to create more awareness on the 1heart2bless charity sales event on April 29th. We manage to give out some prizes for the shoppers too during the fun,” Koh explained.
“On top of that, Sarawak Forte Club charity drive also managed to catch a lot of attention during its convoy to Waterfront Kuching from Boulevard. Although we have some traffic congestion issues, we manage to pull it off with the help from the club’s marshalls, doing their best during the drive,” he added.
From rain to shine evening, Sarawak Forte Club together with 1heart2bless team, managed to reach its last stop at the Hills Shopping Mall at 6.30PM, creating a history for themselves.
“Thanks to Hills’ management for providing us the space and venue space for the charity drive. On top of that, i need to forward my gratitude to Appetit and My Chicken Restaurant too, for providing us with great handcrafted cookies and cupcakes as well as dinner box during the last stop,” said Koh.
“Not forgetting Sarawak Forte Club itself, it was such a great pleasure to be able to invite them on the board and support us during the charity event. Also, thanks to Titan Carwash and Smart Auto Accessories for helping out during the period,” he concluded.
