The management of the Crocs have finally broken the silence of their choice as Sarawak’s import striker.

The decision reveals that Kalle Sone (left in photo) will be released as his injury is still bugging him, and Croation hitman Verdran Muratovic (right in photo) has been signed as a replacement pending the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) approval.

Muratovic has been eyeing the position since his arrival in Kuching, and Sone’s dismal performance during the Sarawak-Negeri Sembilan match sealed his fate. Sone who was once regarded by Sarawak coach Robert Alberts as ‘The best striker in South East Asia’ failed to contribute as much as expected during that match, and Alberts made this clear during his press statements.

Muratovic, 28 now has a huge responsibility to carry as fans are expecting him to perform above Sone when he starts. The timing of his debut game couldn’t be more fitting as Sarawak will play Perak at Perak Stadium next week in a match which could most probably be telecasted live over the nation. However, if he doesn’t start in the game, Muratovic could expect over 25,000 fans filling the Sarawak State Stadium in his debut against Felda United. (Photo obtained from SARAWAK FA FANS Facebook page)
