Sarawak failed to change their fortunes in the Malaysia Super League (MSL) after they went down to Perak at home last night. Despite showing aggressive play in the first eight minutes, Robert Alberts men failed to break the Perak defence as visiting team stood strong to deny the hungry Crocs any goals.
In the 9th minute, a glimpse of brilliance from Perak import Albert Dominique ensured Perak led the scoreline when he individually beat two defenders to score the visiting teams first goal.
They continued to terrorize the Sarawak defence from then on, and was almost rewarded their second goal of the night if not for Fareez Tukijo whom cleared the ball just before it breached the goal line.
In the 21st minute, the home team gave away a spot kick when Sarawak defender Ramesh Lai’s hand hit the ball in the box. Michal Kubala came forward to take the spot kick, and calmly slotted in Perak’s second goal for the night.
Sarawak responded well to the penalty as they started mounting countless attacks on the visiting team. They were handsomely rewarded when Azizan Saperi planted in Sarawak’s first goal of the night, making it 2-1 at half time.
After the breather, Sarawak continued to terrorize the Perak defence in search for equalizer. They almost drew level in the 88th minute but Zamri Morshidi’s close range header was pushed out by Perak’s goalkeeper.
Final Score: Sarawak 1 – 2 Perak.
