An online football magazine has linked Malaysian prolific striker Safee Sali with a move to Muang Thong, a Thai club.

Safee, 27 needs to move from his current club Pelita Jaya (Indonesia) to find regular playing football after Pelita Jaya decided to participate in an illegal Indonesian league. The problem is a national football problem in Indonesia as two major leagues are available with only one endorsed by FIFA. Playing for an illegal league would see Safee banned from any FIFA tournaments, and this includes playing for the Malaysian national team.

Safee Sali has previously been linked with a move to Harimau Muda, the nation’s under-23 squad which plays in the Singaporen S-League as he can’t play for the any team in the Malaysian League until the transfer window reopens.
