The contract will see Safee earn close to RM90,000 monthly, with perks such as a house, a car and a free air ticket to Kuala Lumpur. The contract will see Pelita Jaya pay Safee’s taxes and appoint him a personal driver. It also states that Safee can be asked to play in any other clubs under the Pelita Jaya Cronus which include Australia’s Brisbane Roar, who will be playing in the 2012 AFC Champion’s League, CS Vise, who play in the Belgian second division, and SAD Uruguay.
The club said that the offer was given as an appreciation of Safee’s contribution to the club.
In a brief statement, Safee said that he has yet to be banned by FIFA and had taken consideration of his participation in the national squad before signing the contract. He also said that he is proud to represent Malaysia, and hopes that he will be able continue to do so.
The new contract puts Safee Sali as one of the highest paid players in the banned Indonesian Super League (ISL).
