With the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) being one of the few hot tourism products in Malaysia, news about it’s transfer to other locations is not new.
A few years ago, the RWMF was said to have been moved from Sarawak to Penang. That suggestion did not materialize, but saw Penang creating its very own music fest known as the Penang World Music Festival (PWMF) which not surprisingly is currently coordinated by Sarawakians.
This year, a brief statement by someone was mistook as a gesture that the popular inaugural event would be shifted to Miri. However, Tourism Minister Datuk Abang Johari Tun Openg has confirmed that there would only be improvements to the festival, and it shall not be moved away from it’s brithplace, namely Kuching.
The RWMF concluded last Monday with thousands packing the award winning living museum of Sarawak over the weekend. Eight bloggers were invited to cover the event, and you can check out their coverage here.
