Congress of Union Employees in the Public and Civil Service (Cuepacs) President Datuk Omar Osman was quoted by a local daily to have suggested that the government review the housing and regional allowances especially for Sabah and Sarawak.

According to the daily, Omar said that the housing allowance have not been reviewed over the last 15 years and the government appears financially sound to consider such move.

Omar was also quoted as saying that welfare of the employees is very important regardless of agency they work for and that an improvement of their productivity can be achievement if their welfare is taken care off.
