Pride was indeed high among Sarawakians as Sarawakian diving star Pandelela Rinong Pamg led the Malaysian contingent into the Olympic stadium in London during the opening ceremony.

The Bidayuh diver who hails from Kuching was chosen as the flag bearer for the Malaysian contingent in the 2012 London Olympics, and she is expected to challenge for gold in her favourite diving event in the next few days.

John Slyvester of Kuching when asked to comment said that it was something special to have Sarawak represented at the world level, and it was even more exclusive to have a Sarawakian given the honor to lead the whole national contingent at such a massive game.

Apart from John, many other Sarawakians also opted to share the photo of Pandelela at the Olympics opening.

The London Olympics will see Malaysians hoping to clinch their first ever gold medal in the history of the games.
