The Borneo Post reported that Sarawak State civil servants are not allowed to have official Facebook accounts and those violating the order would face disciplinary action.
State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohd Morshidi Abdul Ghani stressed that the Sarawak State General Orders prohibit anyone in the civil service from having official Facebook accounts.
“Under our General Orders, government servants are disallowed from having official Facebook accounts but if they open private accounts that is beyond our control.
“We can’t stop people from creating their individual personal accounts because that is a private matter. We can only take action against them if they create one officially.
