The excitement over the Xiaomi Mi 6 is still here, but while many are excited to get their hands on Xiaomi’s latest flagship model smartphone, some have questioned the missing 3.5mm audio jack in the beautiful smartphone.
Apparently, Xiaomi purposely left out the audio jack from the design of their new flagship phone for two main reasons, namely battery life, and audio quality.
It was mentioned by Amanz.my that Xiaomi had increased the battery size for their latest smartphone, and this meant they had little space for a 3.5mm audio jack.
Aside that, Xiaomi also claims that audio quality improves if one use the USB Type-C to connect their headphones, hence making it a preference for most music lovers.
Well, I’m not so sure if it is wise to sacrifice the 3.5mm audio jack for better sound quality and bigger battery life, but Apple was the trend setter for such move, and other smartphone manufacturers seem keen to follow suit.
Either way, if you are using your USB Type-C for listen to music, make sure your phone juice is full because one port to do almost everything means you can’t multitask – listen to music and charge your phone at the same time.
