Mi Malaysia has announced the entry of the Redmi 2 into the Malaysian market today and the new 4G device is priced at an affordable RM449.

Those wishing to obtain this Snapdragon 410, 64-bit quad-core 1.2Ghz dual-SIM smartphone can start setting your alarm clock to 12 noon, March 17th, because that’s when the first batch of Redmi 2’s would be sold on the mi.com/my website.

The Redmi 2 comes with a 4.7” IPS HD fully laminated display and a 1GB LPDDR3 RAM. It comes with an 8GB worth of memory, but is capable to hold up a maximum of 32GB.

The rear camera of the Redmi 2 is an improvement over the Redmi 1S as it now boast an 8MP rear camera, and the battery accompanying the phone is also larger despite the fact that the smartphone is already boasting MiUI 6 which is one of the most power saving Android tweaks so far.
