Xiaomi revealed many new things today at their media preview with the Mi 4 taking center stage.
The China based technology company revealed that the Mi 4 is the ‘fastest Mi phone ever’ as it boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz processor, 3GB LP-DDR3 RAM and an option of either 16GB/64GB of storage.
In terms of display, the phone will have a 5-inch 1080p Sharp / JDI OGS full lamination display with a 13MP rear and 8MP front Sony stacked CMOS camera. The smartphone would also be powered by a 3080 mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery.
Compared to the Mi 3, the Mi 4 is of course better, but I am sure many who already just bought the Mi 3 want a quick comparison of where their device stands.
For that, check out the simple chart below:
While the product specifications looks impressive, many have pointed out it does look like an iPhone but no one except Apple would actually care since its priced way below an iPhone.
Apart from that, the Mi 4 will also feature a metal frame, as mentioned here before. However, the back panel/cover would still be plastic.
I will update the listings here once we obtain more information, but for what’s it worth, those with the Mi 3 don’t have much to fret about since there is nothing THAT significantly new in the Mi 4.
You can read my review of the Mi 3 here to see what I honestly think of it.
[Update 4:30PM] The Mi 4 will be priced at RM1080 (USD320) for the 16GB model, and RM1270 (USD400) for the 64GB. It is expected to be available at year end at Xiaomi sites.
