You read the title right. Telco giant, Maxis would cease offering Spotify Premium accounts for their customer in the coming month as their customer service confirmed with us that the offer, made specifically for selected MaxisOne customers is ‘a promotion’.
According to Maxis, the promotion period ends on 23 October 2016, in which customers wanting to continue their Spotify Premium subscription will need to fork out RM14.90/month.
The move to discontinue Spotify Premium for their customers will definately not go well with customers signing up for MaxisOne plans solely to get access to such services, but it looks like Maxis will likely continue with the move.
Currently, MaxisOne customers not only gain access to Spotify Premium, but also gain up to 15GB extra data specifically for the app use.
After 23 October, Maxis would only offer 3GB of music streaming to selected MaxisOne plans.
