The authorities concerned, namely the Kuching North City Commision (DBKU) is working with the federal government to install 24-high resolution close circuit TV (CCTV) around their jurisdiction.

The CCTVs which will be placed on numerous 30-meter poles (seen above) around the city and it is said to be able to also record images during night time.

Aside from monitoring possible crime, the CCTVs are said to also be also used to monitor acts of vandalism and social ills which around the city.

Both DBKU and the Sarawak police force are expected to monitor the footage from these CCTVs although no concrete date has been set to when it will be fully functional.
