Jakim Director-General Datuk Othman Mustapha said the department viewed seriously action by such bloggers that encouraged Muslims to deviate from the true teachings of Islam and were identifying the blogs concerned.
“We will continue to monitor information on Islam posted by the new media,” he said in a statement here Tuesday.
He said the department had identified several blogs attempting to turn Muslims into apostates and had submitted the list to MCMC to block their sites.
However, when MCMC blocked their sites, they open new blogs with different addresses, he added.
