BORNEO POST: INTI College Sarawak is phasing out its operation in Kuching and has stopped enrolling new students from Jan 2013 semester.

INTI Education Group, through a press statement, said it would phase out its college operations in Sarawak by the end of this year, but would continue to commit itself in providing quality tertiary level education in Malaysia with additional investments in other centres.

The statement also stated that even though they have stopped the enrollment, the college would allow the existing final year students graduating in Dec to continue their classes at the Sarawak campus.

This was to ensure that there’s no disruption to their education while the remaining students would be given the choice to transfer to INTI International University in Nilai or INTI Colleges in Subang, Penang and Sabah which offer similar programmes.

It also stated that the management of INTI was already in discussions with the staff and faculty of INTI College Sarawak to explore possible opportunities for them at other INTI campuses.

Severance packages are also being discussed for those who are not re-assigned to other locations.

INTI said that the market in Sarawak has become increasingly saturated, with growing capacity from public universities, and this has hampered the ability to provide the highest benefits possible to its students, staff and faculty
