The number of cases reported for the Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) has decreased to 143 cases today, in comparison to the 167 cases reported yesterday.

The Sarawak Health Department operation room today confirmed that the decrease was reported in Samarahan, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit, Bintulu dan Miri.

Kuching together with Limbang, Mukah dan Betong however reported a slight increase of HFMD cases.

Cases of HFMD have alarmed the local authorities lately with several primary schools asked by the authorities to close to help further curb the spread of the disease.

However, no deaths have been reported to be caused by the disease.
