Android Central has revealed that the current LG Nexus 5 could be the last Nexus-branded handset as Google is likely to likely to launch the first so-called Android Silver smartphone in February 2015.

The Nexus program which gives users ‘pure Android’ experience will be ended said Android Central, with a new program under the line known now as ‘Silver’ replacing the smartphone Nexus line.

It was also made to understand that the Silver devices would be built to Google’s specification, with speedy updates and a limit on bloatware. Aside from the Nexus program, Google also produced two other smartphones under Motorola which have won a lot of praise.

If both Nexus and Motorola models (prior to the sale of Motorola to Lenovo) were to be a benchmark for the said ‘Silver, one can expect the Google’s ‘Silver’ line up to be affordable, with high specifications, which will give tech giants such as Samsung, HTC and Apple a good run for their money.
