The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) is being sued by 30 year old Ahmad Jazimin Mohd Jalaludin for negligence which caused him to lose his right eye and his income.

The former graphic designer has filed a suit for RM776,000 against FAM whom has also named the Selangor police chief, the Inspector-General of Police and the Government as defendants in his suit.

According to Ahmad, he was at the football match between Malaysia and Singapore at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, organised by FAM on July 28 last year when a firecracker from the spectator seats fell and exploded by his right eye, causing him to suffer serious injury.

The incident was said to have happened seconds after the Negaraku was played.

Ahmad claimed that FAM, as the organisers of the event, had the responsibility to ensure the safety of the spectators and carry out proper safety procedures.
