A Form 2 student spent more than six hours lying unconscious inside a monsoon drain before being spotted by his school mates yesterday.
The 14-year-old boy from Kampung Tabuan Melayu was said to have fallen into the drain while walking to school around 6.30am, and was knocked unconscious by the impact.
He lay there unsighted by anyone until about 1.30pm, when several schoolmates spotted him while they were walking home from school.
They immediately carried him out of the drain and brought him back to his house, where his father subsequently sent him to the Sarawak General Hospital.
The student regained consciousness shortly upon arrival at the hospital and, apart from a bruised eye and scratches on his body, did not suffer any other injuries.
