Local Sarawakian Ashri Chuchu was named the Left Midfielder of the Week by international football site Goal.com.

The article continued to stated “Although Sarawak were defeated by Perak on Wednesday, Ashri was one of those players that caught the eye with his stylish performances. True enough, he proved to be the catalyst behind their comeback victory over Felda United on Saturday, scoring the winning goal in dramatic fashion.

Ashri whom plays for Sarawak FA is 23 years of age and wears number 11 on the pitch. He is well known for his speed and skills on the pitch, and is considered one of the best local football talents in the Sarawak squad despite his performance which is said to be ‘inconsistent’.

Regardless of that, Goal.com isn’t one of the best followers of Sarawak football, and has been said to focus more on Singapore’s Lions XII more than the Malaysian teams in the MSL, despite it having a Malaysian special.

With that said, the Sarawak Bloggers congratulates Ashri Chuchu for being the first Sarawak player to be included in Goal.com’s MSL Team Of The Week.

Others in the squad are goalkeeper Zamir Selamat of Johor FC, Defenders Bojan Petric (T-Team), S. Subramaniam (Kelantan) and Helmi Rameli (PKNS), Midfielder Shahrudin Yakup (Sabah), Badri Radzi (Kelantan) and Shahril Ishak (Lions XII), and strikers Sufian Anuar (Lions XII) and Khyril Muhymeen (Kedah).
