Traffic moving into Kuching City was reported to have slowed down with those outside of Kuching coming into town to do some shopping for the coming Hari Raya.

Checks along major roads reveal that the traffic along the Kuching-Serian road was slow as it moves into the city, with several roads leading to India Street in particular experiencing a bumper to bumper ride.

Roads in Petra Jaya and Matang Jaya were reported to be experiencing the peak hour traffic volume at normal hours.

Local shopping malls were also seen to have traffic congestions with major ones such as the Spring and Boulevard experiencing slow traffic from 1km away.

Hari Raya is expected to fall on Sunday, with most businesses and offices already giving their employees a half day work time today.
