Some areas in Bau suffer as drought prolongs

Water shortage has hit several areas in Bau due to the prolonged drought. Most affected areas are those occupying villages without treated piped water and hence forcing the residents to rely on rain water and streams for bathing, washing and cooking.

Villages served by a gravity feed water supply system were also not spared as most are suffering from dry taps due to limited supply and low water pressure.

Among the villages said to be affected are Kampung Skiat Baru, Seromah, Skio, Sogo and Segubang.

A comment by a villager suggest that main pipelines have been laid along the road leading to some of the affected areas but these pipes have yet to be connected to the houses in the villages.
