Redeems president and Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie has revealed that there are plans to build a RM8 million cultural centre at Jalan Apar-Segong near Bau.
The centre is said to be built on a two-acre piece of land adjoining Association of Research and Development of Singai Sarawak (Redeems) centre and it will be used as an avenue for international festivals once completed.
Apart from its large open space for performances, the centre will boast of a 38-unit longhouse equipped with modern amenities, an exhibition hall, a business centres and trading areas.
According to Nansian, the project proposal had been submitted to the Federal Government for evaluation and that the project would commence after approval.
