Petra Jaya Hospital in design

The Petra Jaya Hospital is currently in its design process and will be up for tender once the design has been finalized.

A design consultant has been consulted to look into the matter.

The hospital will be located on a 40-acre land in Petra Jaya and should be fully completed in three years. It is said to boast of some 300-beds, with all the basic specialist services.

Previously, there has been a lot of speculation of the location of Kuching’s second general hospital with Pehin Sri Taib Mahmud saying he would prefer one at Semariang.

300 beds, consider very very small la. SGH has the capacity of 800-900 beds. In view of the current population in Kuching, and Sarawak as a whole, the government should seriously build more hospitals.
