Sarawak face an uphill task to defeat Terengganu when both teams meet tonight.
The Trutles are strong at home, and the recent signing of former Kelantan coach Peter Butler gives the home team a definite edge over Sarawak whom are still recovering from countless oppressions from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
Aside from Butler’s tactical ability, Sarawak will also need to be wary of maestro Joseph Kallang Tie whom is a proven goalscorer. The young Sarawakian lad has scored countless times to help Terengganu win crucial matches this season including a winning goal against Lions XII in Singapore.
Aside from Joseph, physical Francis Doe is expected to threaten the Sarawak’s backline with help from talents from Muslim Ahmad, Shukur Jusoh, Abdul Manaf Mamat and Ashaari Shamsuddin.
It is also important to note that Terengganu are still invincible at home this season as they stand fourth in the Malaysian Super League (MSL).
The Crocs on the other hand are in buoyant mood after winning the Borneo Derby against Sabah.
Hitman Joel Epalle seems to have found his scoring touch, with Robert Albert’s men eager to climb the league and secure a top half finish this season. However, there is a little worry that Epalle may not be able to play after suffering a knock in the recent Borneo Derby.
If the news is proven true, Sarawak may have to rely on Zamri Morshidi and K Rajan whom have been wasteful lately.
Guy Bwele is set to captain the team as Hairol Mokhtar remains suspended, while the back four will most surely see Shahran Samad, Dzualazlan Ibrahim and Yorsi Derma Raju.
With the home team boasting plenty of well known players and eager to impress, we expect this game to be rather one sided. However Sarawak have proven they are more than capable of creating an upset, and hence why we do anticipate the result to be rather unpredictable.
Prediction: Terengganu 1-1 Sarawak
