Kedah will arrive in Kuching this Tuesday with a mission to avenge their 2-0 defeat last Friday.
The Kedahan side will be excited with the prospect of featuring a new import signing, but they are already set to play without influential Abdulfatah Safi whom limped out in the Kedah-Sarawak game last Friday.
Badrol Bakhtiar whom was equally dangerous in the last game is set to feature again, as Wan Jamak Hassan’s men try their luck to curtail the uprising of a fantastic Borneo side. Wan Jamak looks certain to improve his defense as he pointed out that both goals scored by Sarawak was caused by poor defending on his side.
However, Wan Jamak is under no illusion that his task at hand is easy as the Crocs play a very different ball game when bolstered by their home crowd.
If past games were to be a yardstick, the Crocs not only tend to look more lively at home, but also display a more attacking game play, causing their opponents to be pinned at their own half of the field.
The emerging partnership between Guy Bwele and Joel Epalle will again be the center of attention as imports will be used by Robert Alberts to open up space for local strikers such as Ashri Chuchu, Azizan Baba and Zamri Morshidi to score.
At the back, Sarawak is rock solid with not less than five fantastic defenders ready to play. Shahran Samad has been filling first choice defender Hairol Mokhtar’s spot with convincing potent defending, and Hairol’s return will indeed give Alberts a selection headache. At the goalkeeping department, Sani Anuar is a reliable custodian with incredible reflexes.
Both teams will go all out in this game, with Kedah urgently needing a win. Sarawak will also want to win as it will not only enable them to leap to a minimum sixth in the league, but also propelled them to their new mission which is to finish top five. The Crocs will however need to cautious with over-confidence which may back-fire.
Regardless of that, we believe that the Crocs are the more confident side, with Kedah needing more time to gel with their latest addition.
Prediction: Sarawak to win by a one goal margin.
