The game would most certainly see Vedran Muratovic partner Zamri Morshidi up-front as both try to enhance their partnership by producing more goals. In the last match, Muratovic showed he is not afraid to take chances for goals, but his partnership and Zamri Morshidi was not as strong as expected with understanding between them very much ‘absent’. However, the partnership did produce over 10 shots on target in the game, before Zamri Morshidi was substituted by Ravindran.
As usual, Guy Bwele will be expected to dominate the midfield as wise Robert Alberts would probably keep his tactics by starting Azizan Saperi, K Rajan and Rashid Aya in favour of local hero Ashri Chuchu whom he referred to as ‘inconsistent’. Ashri is however very much likely to be included as a substitution, similar to what happened during the KL Felda United game.
In defence, Ramesh Lai, Hairol Mokhtar, Dzulazlan Ibrahim and Yosri Derma Raju will need to improve their concentration as the lacking of it has caused the Crocs to leak goals in previous games. Goalkeeper Sani Anuar is also expected to retain his position between the sticks in the absence of injured first choice Saiful Amar Sudar.
Johor FC on the other hand would want to prove something to their home fans as they have yet to score maximum points at home to date. Despite that, the team has been performing outstanding away from home, recording the most wins away in the MSL. Johor FC will no doubt be banking on goalkeeper Zamir Selamat to keep the score low, with newly listed national player Khairul Ismail and Brazilian Fernando Abreu Ferreira helping out at the back. The Johor FC strike force would most likely feature Zambri Chin dan Haris Safuan although there are reports that the Bees have signed another import striker. Nonetheless, Sarawak would need to be careful of Johor FC’s scoring midfielders in Azi Shahril and Mohd Riduwan M’aon whom have scored two goals each.
Defensively, Johor FC and Sarawak share the same amount of leaks, but Sarawak’s previous attacking woes have made them seem as the less superior of the two. Statistics also show that Sarawak do not fare well away from home, and tend to play a very defensive game if compared to their home matches. The inclusion of Muratovic may change this, but with Sarawak still experimenting on striking options, a defensive tactical play is very much anticipated. Johor FC on the other hand have been poor at home, collecting a minimal one point after three home games. However, it must be noted that the Bees lost their home games to the likes of Perak and Negeri Sembilan, and won against teams like Kedah, PKNS and Kuala Lumpur.
With that in mind, we anticipate a cracking game between both teams, but see the Crocs winning their first away game at Pasir Gudang. The game is expected to be shown live on ASTRO ARENA (Ch 801) at 8:45PM.
Prediction: Johor FC 0 : 2 Sarawak
