Malaysia 0-0 Philippines.: Malaysia fail to shine against Azkals

Malaysia prooved they could be matched by the Azkals when they were held 0-0 at the Shah Alam Stadium last Saturday.

The match saw both teams giving their best line-up to improve their FIFA rankings, with Malaysia keen to show who is boss in South East Asia football.

However, The Philippines proved much better than K. Rajagopal must have expected as they match the Malayan Tigers in every department.

This caused the home side to have nail biting moments as the Azkals surged forward. Malaysian strike force led by sensational striker Safee Sali was also guilty of squandering numerous chances in the game.

With both sides clearly cancelling each other, a draw was indeed the most worthy result. The Malaysian national team previously drew 1-1 with Sarawak at a friendly game in Kuching.

Final result: Malaysia 0-0 Philippines.
