ILP Miri hits highest API reading in the country

The Borneo Post reported that Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) Miri hit the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) yesterday reaching 164 at 11am yesterday. Despite that, areas in Miri city appear less affected by the haze when our Sarawak Bloggers team went around.

Readings in other areas in Sarawak yesterday according to the department were 66 in Bintulu, 59 (Kapit), 74 (Kuching), 52 (Limbang), 65 (Miri), 60 (Samarahan), 63 (Sibu), 42 (Sarikei) and 53 (Sri Aman).

The API guide from NREB indicates readings from 0-50 as healthy, 51-100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201-300 (very unhealthy) and 301 and above (hazardous).
