This year’s World Harvest Festival (WHF) will see ‘The Adventures of Keling and Kumang’ theme play.
The play introduces the legendary Keling as the hero who finds his true love in Kumang after enduring and overcoming challenging feats.
The scenes will be enlivened with theatrical effects in a natural outdoor setting fronting a lake.
Aside from the play, the crown for Miss World Harvest Festival 2012 Ethnic Beauty Pageant will also be up for grabs with participants in colourful traditional Iban costumes.
15 finalists would also demonstrate their skills and strength through events such as lifting 50kg gunnysacks, climbing Mount Santubong, blowpipe shooting, coconut de-husking with bare hands and other traditional-based activities as they try to win the elusive Ironman World Harvest Festival 2012.
For food lovers, there would also be a Dayak Ethnic Food Festival which would give visitors the opportunity to try interesting Sarawakian indigenous food.
The WHF happens on May 26-27 at the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV). Tickets are priced at RM30 per adult and RM15 per child (12 and below) until May 20 at the SCV and Damai Beach Resort Sales Office on the first floor of Sarawak Plaza.
After May 20, tickets are RM60 and RM30 respectively. Children aged six and below can enter for free.
