Facebook has opened its very own office in Kuala Lumpur Sentral, marking the social media giant’s intention to leverage on the active use of the social media platform among Malaysians.
According to Facebook Southeast Asia managing director Kenneth Bishop, Facebook intends to connect more businesses to the company’s solution.
Malaysians are a prime user of the social media platform, with over 18 million Facebook users with Malaysians haing 60 percent more friends than the global average. Malaysians also spend more time watching videos on Facebook through their mobile devices, signalling a very active ‘mobile-first’ community in the country.
The event today also saw the announcement of Nicole Tan as Facebook Malaysia head.
